UNIX Administrator Responsibilities and Duties

Coordinate with customer management with purpose to formulate technical solutions complex in nature.

Inform customer management about suitable technical support products developments.

Analyze products as well as upgrade as needed for appropriateness.

Supervise and implement entire system upgrade strategies.

Lead and direct design, execution as well as maintenance of solutions complex in nature.

Coordinate all activities with varied technical personnel as suitable.

Develop and evaluate highly complicated system standards and thresholds.

Recommend feasible UNIX solutions to maximize system performance.

Present technical assistance for UNIX atmosphere and tools.

Prepare UNIX applications and identify UNIX issues.

Develop UNIX administration test plans and perform testing.

Ensure to determine and resolve system-wide problems on market data servers as well as data delivery networks (LAN and WAN).

Ensure to interact with field engineers, convey technicians plus end users through phone.

Support customers over phone spending several hours per day.

Conduct scheduled UNIX system upgrades.
