Registered Nurse Responsibilities and Duties

Meet and discuss with patients and their families about the patients’ health conditions.

Chalk out a nursing plan for the patient in consultation with patients’ family and the doctors concerned.

Ensure high-quality medical support to patients.

Provide care to patients by administering medication, therapy and treatment.

Observe and assess the condition of patients and record symptoms.

Take care of patients by feeding, bathing, and providing medication.

Administer IV fluids, blood and medicines in correct dosages.

Create and update patients’ medical charts/information.

Assist the physician in examination, treatment and other medical procedures.

Comfort patients and their families during medical procedures.

Educate and train family members about basic care for patients.

Educate patients and their family members about physician’s plans.

Monitor and account for medical supplies and other medications given to patients during their stay at the hospital.
