Dear Ms. Kimberly Lindsey,

I am currently in the market for a position of a petroleum geologist. Attached you will find my resume in consideration of the position that is currently available through your company Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.

My education includes a master’s degree in the geosciences and I am licensed to work in the state and have over ten years of experience in the industry. It has always been my goal to maintain my education through continually learning and adapting to the latest technologies in the field.

With my experience I am able to determine the location and amount of combustible fuels in sediments on land or in the ocean. I also understand the origin of the fuel, the amount of fuel in the reservoir, the fuel’s ‘maturity’ or concentration, the movement of fuel underground and obstacles that impede or expedite that movement. This includes using a variety of techniques to discover this information, including geochemical analysis, ground-based sonar to discover reservoirs or satellite mapping.

At my last place of employment I was responsible for discovering the locations and total amounts of useful fuel in sediments or reservoirs. This was done while interpreting geophysical information for all project reports, conducting field studies in order to analyze the project data, accurately estimating fuel amounts, interpreting and implementing drilling strategies for extraction and creating post project reports summarizing the project.

I am available at your earliest convenience for an interview and can be reached by calling (555)-555-5555 at any time. I look forward to hearing from you.

Respectfully,

Signature

Richard Johnson
