Dear Ms. Pauline Williams,
I am writing to apply for the position of Grants Officer with World Vision Inc. and I am confident that I can be a great asset to your organization.
I have a bachelor’s degree in finance and I am familiar with a variety of fundraising methods. I have extensive knowledge of fundraising sources, so I know which groups to begin requesting grants from based on the specific need of your organization.
Receiving grants from foundations can take time and a lot of hard work. I have the ability to be persistent and keep putting in the requests for a grant but I also have the ability to make excellent judgment calls to avoid being too aggressive and irritating.
I possess excellent communication skills with the ability to make a very compelling request when meeting with representatives in person or when sending in a written request. I also possess strong presentation skills with the ability to give informational lectures and presentations to explain why grant money is needed.
I have outstanding organizational skills with the ability to keep detailed records of all requests made and the response for future references. This will also help to discover why the requests may be denied at first so changes can be made to correct the problem.
I have the skills to use MS programs such as PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Excel proficiently and I am also familiar with Lotus notes and different types of databases. I am the best match for this position and I hope to meet with you soon to discuss this job in more detail.
Please call (123)-778-6076 to arrange an interview.
