Here are Business Analyst Cover Letter Examples:

Dear Ms. Vincent:

My name is Tony Scott and I have just graduated from State University with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Prior to that I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from State University with a double major in Finance and Information Technology. For the last 2 years, while working on my MBA I worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Business Analysis Department at ABC Retail Corporation. I would like to apply for a job as a business analyst now that I have completed my graduate education.

One of the things that has been even more valuable than my education is my work in the Business Analysis Department at ABC Retail. I have assisted analysts in establishing goals for more efficient processes, conducting research and analyzing the information that was gathered, documenting all findings of an investigation, communicating with a wide range of people in various departments, evaluating challenges and devising solutions designed to improve processes and work flows.

While working toward my MBA I took advanced courses in accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing and organizational behavior. Those courses, combined with my information technology and basic finance courses taken while doing my undergraduate work, have given me a clear understanding of best practices and ideal work flows in those areas. My work as an assistant at ABC Retail has helped me understand those concepts as they relate to the unique circumstances surrounding ABC work flows and processes.

It has been my privilege to work at ABC Retail Corporation for the past 2 years. I am grateful for the support of my manager, Alex Baker, during this time. He has provided a wealth of information and advice as I have juggled work and graduate school. Mr. Baker also wrote a letter of reference which is attached along with my resume. I am happy to have a job at ABC Retail and hope that you will consider me for a position as a business analyst. If you need to contact me outside of business hours my cell phone number is (555)-555-5555 and my email address is [email]

Warm Regards,

Tony Scott

Example 2 -Unadvertised Opening

This business analyst cover letter example is from a person who has been an analyst for several years at a mid-size corporation and is seeking a more challenging position at a larger company with more diverse departments and additional analysis needs. The individual is willing to relocate for another job.

Dear Human Resources Director:

My name is Lydia Martin and I am a business analyst at XYZ Financial Solutions in XYZ City. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from City University. After 3 years at XYZ Financial, where I have learned a great deal, particularly in regards to information technology, I am ready to move to a larger company with more diverse analysis needs and more challenging work. It has been a privilege to work for XYZ, but at this point I have no opportunities to learn more without changing jobs. I am looking for a challenge and am willing and able to relocate.

During my 3 years at XYZ I have applied what I learned in college, but more importantly I have gleaned firsthand experience in analyzing policies, procedures, work flows and processes that are unique to XYZ. I am eager to move on to a larger company where I can utilize my current skill set and learn how to analyze, improve and enhance other businesses processes.

Along with strong analytical skills, I have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Other strengths include the ability to thoroughly investigate every aspect of a process, document each phase of a process including charts and graphs that illustrate work flows, evaluate the process in search of ways to streamline or enhance the work flow and develop a plan that results in more efficient business processes and monetary savings for the company.

My resume is attached and I hope you will review it and consider me for a business analyst position at ABC Business Products, Inc. I believe my current skill set and my eagerness and willingness to learn as much as possible about ABC processes would be an asset to the company. Example 3 – Response to Job Postings and Classifieds Ads

This business analyst cover letter example is for an individual who has been working as a business analyst for several years but is relocating to another city due to her husband’s job change. She is responding to a number of job postings for business analyst positions in her new home.

Dear Human Resources Director:

My name is Caroline King and I am applying for the position of business analyst at ABC United Corporation. I have recently moved to Norfolk, Virginia from Louisville, Kentucky due to my husband accepting a job offer here. I was a business analyst at American Healthcare for 5 years prior to our move to Virginia. I have a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky and as of last year earned my Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) designation. Taking courses and studying for the CBAP I believe has enhanced my knowledge and ability to perform at top levels as a business analyst.

I understand that you are looking for a business analyst to work in your Healthcare Division, and I believe my 5 years’ experience at American Healthcare makes me uniquely qualified for such a position. I have tremendous experience evaluating processes, analyzing their effectiveness and making recommendations for streamlining or otherwise improving those processes. Business analysis in the healthcare arena has been particularly challenging in the last few years with the many changes being implemented by the federal government.

Your job posting also indicates a need for someone with strong communication, problem solving, interpersonal and technological skills as well as excellent analytical skills. The letter from Mr. Marvin Gaines, CEO of American Healthcare, which is included with my resume outlines areas in which I demonstrated strength in these areas while working for American. I would be honored to work for ABC United Corporation if afforded such an opportunity.

Please consider my attached resume. I am available for either a personal or telephone interview any time at your convenience and can be reached on my cell phone at (555)-555-5555 or via email at [email] I am ready to go to work immediately, and would specifically like to work for ABC United Corporation. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
