I strongly feel like this position is for me due to my educational background and experience. I have an associate degree and I am a certified medial assistant. I have worked as an Administrative Medical Assistant for the last six years during which time I performed the following duties.
•Answered phones, scheduled appointments, made sure all pre-admission and consent forms were in order
•Acquired insurance authorizations for ordered tests and procedures
•Tracked and recorded test results
•Updated charts and compiled documents for billing
•Scheduled surgeries and other procedures
•Performed EKGs, checked vitals, collected and processed specimens
•Prepared patients for their exam
•Relayed instructions to patients and answered questions for patients and family members
In addition to performing these duties, I have acquired a number of skills that I feel make me a number one candidate for this position. I have excellent communications and interpersonal skills that help me connect with patients to make them feel more comfortable and relaxed during this stressful time in their lives.
I am proficient in all MS Office programs and I possess multi-tasking abilities that allow me to handle several jobs at once while maintaining accuracy. The medical field is a very rewarding career. Helping ensure that patients receive the best possible service is my goal and what I enjoy doing.
