Sample Certified Nursing Assistant Resume

Posted in Assistant Resume Examples

Certified nursing assistants, or CAN’s, work under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse in a variety of settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, day care facilities for the elderly, assisted living facilities, and personal homes. The types of services provided by certified nursing assistants include checking patients’ vital signs as well as bathing, grooming, and feeding them. They also help nurses with medical equipment and pass along pertinent information that has been observed.

A certified nursing assistant resume should include information regarding the required post-secondary education and licensure. The candidate’s work history, nursing skills, and related experience should be introduced as well. Three separate certified nursing assistant resume format options are presented below, with each one designed to assist individuals at a different level of work experience.

Entry-Level Resume

A certified nursing assistant is an excellent entry-level position to begin a career in the nursing field. Previous work is valuable, though it is more important to highlight the required post-secondary education and licensure. Because work experience within the field is limited at this level, related volunteer experience should also be included. In the certified nursing assistant resume example below, Ms. Jones emphasizes her newly completed CNA certificate program as well as her up to date licence.
