CNA Resignation Letter

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, if you are put in a situation where you need to resign from your job, the most professional and businesslike course of action is to send in a letter. You should write a formal CNA resignation letter and send a copy of it to the human resources department manager of your workplace. This is a great way to show that you wish to resign graciously, with no ill will toward your employers, increasing your chances of receiving a positive references and avoiding burning any bridges.

Format and Content

Your letter needs to be a professional business letter as befits someone of your education. A good CNA resignation letter format should start off by telling your boss that you plan to resign. If your reasons for leaving are too personal to disclose, it is acceptable to say that you are leaving for personal or health reasons. Keep it formal and factual, yet with a cordial tone. It is a good idea to write down your phone number and email address for anyone who needs to follow up with you between now and your last day. Place the date and your signature in the proper areas and make two copies.

My last day of work will be March 15, 2014, so please accept this letter as my official two weeks’ notice of resignation. I truly regret any inconvenience that this may cause to ABC Family Health Clinic and will put forth every effort to diminish stress in the transition.

I will be completing all pending work in my last two weeks and would be happy to assist with prepping a replacement to take over my duties.
