This sample child care provider recommendation letter is written on behalf of an individual who runs an in-home child care and pre-school center for children ages one to six years. It is written by the mother of twin girls whose children have attended the center from the age of one.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Van Horn:

It is with great pleasure that I recommend Mrs. Carolyn Park’s in-home child care center to you. My husband and I were overjoyed and overwhelmed to discover six years ago that we would be having twins. After the birth of our twin daughters I left the workforce for a full year to stay home and care for them. Economic challenges in my husband’s industry made it financially necessary for me to return to work. One of my neighbors referred me to “Mrs. Park’s Play Place,” and I have been exceedingly happy with the care and pre-school education she has provided for my children.

Mrs. Parks has turned a portion of her home into a child care facility. She is assisted by her niece and only takes ten children, although she is licensed for more. She accepts children ages one to six and prepares them for kindergarten. My girls were sad to leave Mrs. Parks when they started kindergarten, but I occasionally take them over for a visit. Mrs. Parks is patient and kind while still maintaining discipline and gaining the utmost respect of the children in her care. She has an organized schedule for each age group which includes education, indoor play time, outside time, story time, lunch, snack and nap time.

One of the most impressive things about Mrs. Parks’ program is her pre-school curriculum. She takes the time to find out the specific kindergarten curriculum in our county’s public school system and any changes that are made from year to year. The educators on the board level in our county know and respect Mrs. Parks. She makes certain that the concepts and skills she teaches in her pre-school adequately prepare the children at her center for a successful kindergarten year. My daughters were well-prepared and have been breezing through kindergarten so far this year.

I encourage you to schedule a site visit at Mrs. Park’s Play Place and take the time to look around and meet with Mrs. Parks. It is difficult to leave your children in someone else’s care and finding a child care provider you can trust is vital. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to contact me at (555)-555-5555 or via email at [email] Best of luck to you in your quest for a child care provider.

Sincerely,

Cathy Cates
