It provides you with the opportunity to restate your strengths and to include any information you may have forgotten to mention during the interview process. It differs from a verbal interview, which often requires answers on the fly. Make the most of this second chance by dedicating the time needed to write a professional letter that clearly states why you are the best candidate for the position.
Format and Content:
This letter is usually longer than the traditional thank you interview letter. The first paragraph of the follow up interview letter format provides you with an opportunity to thank the interviewer and to make a positive comment about the hiring organization. The remaining paragraphs are devoted to providing more detail on your qualifications. Use these paragraphs to highlight areas you feel were not explored adequately in the interview, or areas you feel the interviewer questioned as a possible weakness.
