Proof of Internship Letter

There is more than one type of proof of internship letter. This letter, written by the employer, provides proof of internship to a university. Proof of internship may be needed to satisfy a school’s scholarship or outside credit requirements. For some professions, an internship is part of the degree requirement. In addition, the letter can be used to help the student secure scholarships from other sources.

Format and Content

Proof of internship letter requires several elements including the contact information of the sender, the name and position of the intern as well as the dates of the internship. Some letters may require salary information and working hours. The specific format is dependent upon the needs of the requesting party and the purpose for which the letter will be used. If the internship is for college credit, a more detailed format may be required.
