Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities and Duties

Comply with Operations and Maintenance Guide for core and secondary Heavy Equipment.

Inspect heavy equipment and handle preventive maintenance daily.

Follow site grading and operations plans, read grade stakes and operate in medium to fine grade environment.

Operate equipment productively for twelve hours every day in all weather and ground conditions.

Perform landfill operations tasks as per Supervisor or General Manager’s directions.

Operate heavy equipment safety and efficiently as per legislation, policy and procedures.

Determine methods and need project equipment with onsite Superintendent to procure equipment.

Aid in self development by being receptive for company training.

Operate heavy equipment like maintainers, front-end loaders, gradalls, backhoes and bulldozers.

Support Operators in equipment maintenance and check availability of equipment inventory.

Use and maintain equipment and supplies.

Encourage workplace safety and environmental practices improvement.

Operate bulldozers, skid steers, excavators and front end loaders.

Operate vehicle mechanical attachments and equipments.

Service trucks and heavy equipments and operate pickups and light equipment.
