Central Office Technician Responsibilities and Duties

Perform installation, maintenance and repairs of central office equipment.

Perform preventive maintenance and service activation and deactivation of office equipment.

Use manual and power tools safely and effectively to perform installations and repairs.

Perform installation, testing and labeling of cable lines.

Manage cabling in telecommunication rooms and equipment stations.

Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems in a timely manner.

Maintain documentations for all installations, maintenances, repairs and inspections.

Comply with health, safety and environmental policies.

Remove any unused or non-functional equipment.

Assemble equipment frames, cable racks and other auxiliary frames.

Open and close cable holes when necessary.

Adhere to standard wiring color codes and strips.

Ensure that equipment installation is done at expected quality level.

Develop positive working relationship with co-workers.

Perform inspection and maintenance activities on regular basis.
