CAD Manager Responsibilities and Duties

Plan, organize and manage work plans of CAD project team.

Manage project budget, resource identification and schedule for CAD team.

Provide guidance and direction to CAD team to ensure operational and technical excellence.

Develop, implement and monitor CAD design standards and procedures to meet customer needs.

Manage CAD hardware and software systems for the design team.

Work with Engineering Lead regarding technical issues, training and other CAD system issues.

Initiate and maintain contact with clients for clarification, coordination and negotiation of critical issues.

Identify opportunities and recommendations for increasing workflow efficiencies.

Recommend best practices for solutions to meet customer business needs.

Hire, train and supervise CAD users in core application skills and standards.

Evaluate team members for their technical skills, performance and productivity.

Maintain documentation records of generated design deliverables.

Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.

Ensure project documentation and contracts are in compliance with the standards set forth by the Project Delivery Board.
