Assistant Managing Editor Responsibilities and Duties

Assist Managing Editor in planning and managing editing projects.
Supervise writer contracts and article fees.
Monitor and control monthly expenses according to allotted budgets.
Assist in setting budget, schedules and deadlines for new editing projects.
Supervise and guide proofreaders and copy editors based on project requirements.
Manage and balance the workload among copy editors.
Identify and report new content ideas and concepts to Managing Editor.
Write or edit contents when needed.
Recruit and train writers, editors, proofreader, and other freelance staffs.
Develop best practices to optimize the editing process.
Manage implementation, revision, and distribution of style sheet, style guide, and editorial process documentation.
Participate in the weekly status meetings to provide feedback.
Ensure the content are search engine optimized, concise, and comply with the website standards.
Coordinate with writers to maintain editorial flow and schedule.
Act as a main contact for any enquiries and issues.
