Affiliate Marketing Manager Job Description

The job of an Affiliate Marketing Manager involves managing the company’s external and internal affiliate programs through all phases, including brainstorming, launch, maintaining, trafficking, marketing, reporting, optimization and analysis. He/she is responsible for identifying, evaluating and recruiting new affiliates to increase program distribution and interfacing with internal marketing and other team to develop and implement marketing strategies and support affiliate programs.

Education/Experience Requirements A successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising or a similar field and at least 1 year experience as an affiliate marketer. Some companies accept candidates without a degree, but with at least 3 years direct experience in affiliate marketing and at least 1 year managerial work experience.

Skills Familiarity with affiliate marketing networks and search engine marketing; proven record in negotiation and management of online media campaigns; knowledge in ad-serving technologies, experience in campaign management; excellent time management and project management skills; strong organizational, planning, problem solving, and decision-making skills, and the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and work well independently and in a team setting.

Specific work elements Maintaining and developing affiliate marketing programs, recruiting new affiliate partners; monitoring affiliate practices; negotiating and evaluating affiliate advertising agreements; maintaining relationships with affiliates and partners; regularly monitoring campaign performance; compiling and submitting campaign performance reports; providing monthly invoices to affiliate partners; and handling the buying, renegotiation of rates, renewing or canceling media placements and other adverting programs.
