Sterile Processing Technician Cover Letter

Dear Ms. Batchelor,

I am interested in the Sterile Processing Technician position I saw listed on an employment center bulletin board.

I was always interested in the medical profession but did not have the aptitude or financial means to go to medical school or even college. With that in mind, I joined the military and completed schooling as a Certified Operating Room Technician. I also have experience in the post-comprehensive side of the field but have more passion for the surgical side. I loved being a part of the surgical team without having to complete the schooling that would be required to become a physician.

My eight year term of service with the Army was completed late last year and I am looking for a new position in a similar field where I feel my knowledge would be both appreciated and beneficial in an operating room situation. I took a refresher course and completed the testing to become a Certified Registered Central Service Technician which I understand is a requirement with your company.

I do not require supervision to ensure my tasks are completed properly and have no problem working under strict timelines. With my eight years experience along with my refresher course and certification, I feel I would be a great fit for this position. My career goals see me moving up within the same company and I would like the stability that I found while in the service.
