Dear Ms. Thelma Baker,
I am interested in the mechanical engineering position with your company Lexmark International, Inc. and have attached my resume to this document in consideration of this opening.
I have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and have worked in the mechanical engineering field for my entire career which has spanned a decade. I have also stayed up to date on any and all current technologies in order to be more effective for the company. At my previous employer, it was my task to develop and analyze continuous fiber composite structures and to conduct test correlation for components and multi-material systems. I also evaluated any damage and damage tolerance of new composite material systems.
There were times when it was necessary to synthesize with the product departments, material developers and strategic suppliers and to visit and obtain technical details for implementing mechanical models. This allowed me to interface with internal project team on client project activities and to generate system concepts to satisfy product requirements. This included verifying concepts through breadboard builds and analysis and designing the component layout for new or improved mechanical subsystems.
There is no problem with my conducting tolerance analysis at the system and subsystem level while also handling all purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers. In the past, I have been able to suggest cost saving proposals on making versus buy analysis or alternative sourcing. I also coordinated with the engineers and CAD designers for prototypes and pilot detailed design.
Please feel free to contact me at any time by calling (222)-717-2674 in order to set up an interview.
