I am writing to enquire about the posting for a Kindergarten Teacher, which I saw posted on the New York job bank web site. Please accept my application for the position. I am including my resume and credentials for your consideration.

For the past twenty years I have been an early childhood educator, working in a number of preschools, daycare center, and elementary school kindergarten classrooms. I hold a degree in Early Primary Teaching and I am a certified teacher in New York. My first aid and CPR certificates are up to date, as are my immunizations and criminal record check.

I am familiar with the principles of phonological awareness, and have experience working with the Animated Literacy program. I also have a great deal of experience using Jolly Phonics and the related teaching and reading materials, with which I have had great success teaching young learners not only phonics but beginning grammar.

Teaching young children is a pleasure and a calling for me. I take great pride in my students’ accomplishments, and I do my utmost to create a nurturing classroom environment that will foster their growth. Former students are still in touch with me years after they graduate. I am not only my students’ teacher, but one of their biggest fans and a lifelong friend.
