Dear Ms. Tonya Livingston,

I am applying for the position of Customs and Border Protection Officer with Net-Consultants.

I have registered online at CBP.gov for CBP officer exam and I am ex-military. I have the training and skills needed to monitor and help keep the borders protected from illegal activities such as trafficking illegal drugs and other goods.

I understand that this position involves searching cargo, vehicles, personal property and persons at the various entrance points into the country. I have good interpersonal skills with the ability to stay calm and professional when interact with people from all types of backgrounds. I also speak two languages fluently and I have the ability to use good judgment and to take steps to keep situations under control for the safety of everyone in the area.

I have the ability to work with all other federal agencies to help maintain national security and to supervise anti-terrorism operations. I am familiar with the different tools used in detecting contraband from metal detectors to canine units. When necessary, I can detain suspects and I have the ability to conduct interrogations. I also have the ability to transfer suspects to detention facilities.

I have the knowledge to check travelers for passports and visas to make sure they are up-to-date and legal. I am very observant with the ability to notice any behavior that seems suspicious or out of character when checking documents and asking questions about the nature of the visit. I meet the citizenship and age requirements and I can pass the physical and background checks.
