I would like to take this opportunity to apply for the Catering Coordinator position with Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants.
I have earned an associate degree in culinary arts where I studied the basics of event planning and culinary techniques. My studies included classes on history of culinary arts along with how to prepare foods properly. I also completed an apprenticeship to gain hands on experience in this business. I have the skills to use the kitchen equipment proficiently and I have experience planning and creating menus.
I have acquired the skills to put together a team of cooks and servers needed to work on each event and to assign tasks to each member of the staff. I also have the skills to supervise the events to make sure everything goes according to plan and that they meet the specifications of the clients. I have experience setting up the equipment for the events and I have the skills to help serve the food and assist in the clean up at the end of the event.
I successfully completed a food handler’s course, so I have the ability to monitor the food handling procedures and preparations to ensure the staff is following all the safety rules and regulations. This includes labeling products and making sure the food is stored properly.
I have outstanding customer service skills with the ability to extend courteous and professional service to all clients. I have the ability to coordinate small or large events and I am confident that I can be a great asset to your company.
