Dear Ms. Karen Christian,
I am very interested in the ASL Instructor position with Hofstra University.
I have a degree in deaf education and I am ASLTA certified. I am fluent in American Sign Language and I have the ability to teach students how to interpret and evaluate literature and to use finger spelling and signs correctly. I am familiar with and have the ability to follow the curriculum set forth by your school and I have excellent instructional and communication skills that help to create a good environment for learning.
I have the ability to create lessons that meet the schools standards along with all state and federal regulations. I have extensive knowledge of and the ability to teach the students all about deaf culture and I possess excellent computer skills.

I understand the difficulties that deaf students face and I have lots of patience to work with these students to help them receive the education they need to live a productive life and to accomplish their goals. I can monitor, evaluate and grade the performance of the students in addition to keeping track of attendance and accurate student records for the school, students and parents. I also have the ability to submit all information according to school policies.
I have the knowledge and ability to provide advice for students that want to pursue special interests to help them get started. I can attend meetings and be active in school related activities. I would like to meet with you soon to talk about this position in person.

Please call (123)-331-1571 to set up an interview.
Respectfully,
