Dear Marie Young,
After reading about the opening for an Addiction Specialist with your facility, I decided to write and express my interest in this position. I see this as a great opportunity for the both of us. I have the skills, training and education this position requires and you are offering the exact career opportunity I have been searching for.
My current position with Mosaic Community Services as an Addiction Specialist has been very fulfilling and I have gained a lot of hands on experience but I feel it is time to advance my career. Unfortunately, there is no room for advancement at this facility so I must look elsewhere.
I have a Masters in Social Science and have extensive knowledge of psychiatric nursing in which I am licensed to practice. I have worked over five years in a counseling program that included working with the addictions program, so I have hands on experience working directly with individuals suffering from all types of addictions.
I possess knowledge of the states requirements for admissions and treatment of these patients and I have the ability to follow all procedures to the letter. I have excellent written and oral communications skills, which is critical in this line of work and a real desire to help patients regain control of their lives.
I am very interested in touring your facility and hope to hear from you soon. I can be reached at (123)-605-3905 anytime and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you in advance for considering me for this position.
